Joshua 22-23
PROMISE ~ (n) ~ A declaration or assurance that one will do a particular thing or that guarantees that a particular thing will happen.
I think of all of the promises that I have made over the years and how those that I have been unable to keep show one more way in which I fall short of the glory of God. The Word tells us to let your yes be yes and your no be no. It tells us this so that we may be persons of integrity; whom people can trust.
There are so many promises that God give us in the Bible. Here are a random smattering of 25 of them.

And, from the mouth (or pen) of a man that saw first hand all of the amazing, miraculous power of God for his entire lifetime, "You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the LORD your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed." That was true when Joshua spoke them 3400 years ago and it is true today.
Grab onto His Word and find His promise for what you need in your life now. Claim it as true and make it your own. But does it seem that those promises are far away or unrealistic? What can we do to make those promises materialize in our lives?
The answer is simple to write but more difficult to live. Its found in Joshua 22. After their "revolutionary war" Joshua dismissed half of the Isrealite army and reminded them that because they have done all that God and commanded them and followed all of his orders, they were given rest, land and wealth; just as God promised. Then, Joshua gives the key to continuing in that success and the requirement for us to live that way also. 1500 years later Jesus tells us it is the first and greatest commandment that the entire Law rests on this one sentence. So, it must be a pretty important sentence to live by.
But take careful heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
