Romans 5-6
In the courts of the United States it is generally understood that ignorance is no excuse. Not knowing the law is not a valid defense for breaking it. Sometimes I think our country forgets that most of our laws and procedures actually come from the Bible. This is no exception.Paul writes that the Law was given to Moses so that sin and crime would INCREASE. Before that we can assume that many of the same rules were in placed but there were others that may have never even been considered. When these new rules came into play were they all immediately understand, accept and follow them? I really, really doubt it. But, Paul also tells us that we are given an out! Okay, not an out, but grace. And God's Grace is sufficient. What we find is that His grace is all that we need. No matter how great your blunders, how wide your path of destruction, how massive your loss, the Grace of God is able to restore you to what He knows you can be. That is great news. At least for me it is and it can be to you too!! In fact, when I look back and remember exactly how far off the path of righteousness I had fallen, I am overwhelmed with just exactly how much more I need the Grace of God and the Saving Love of Jesus Christ. Those things are all available to you too; no matter how far off the path you've fallen.
